I feel sad that my next journal is about this, but I just wanted to let you guys know whats happened to Rubin, and I kinda want a diverse opinion on the matter.
Rubin is really sick. I mean really.
He has been for about 2 weeks now.
He could hardly steady himself before, but now he cant even stay afloat, and he uses the leaves of the plants to hold himself near the surface.
Here is a photo to show you just how bad he is doing.



He is not as thin as in the photo right now, because I somewhat force fed him since I haven't seen him eat in the past few days. But he just lays on his side like that 24/7, and I see his gills move every few seconds.

My point is, is that I really hate seeing him suffer.
I was going to let nature take its toll and wait for him to expire by himself, but its been so long now, and he is obviously suffering.

I did some research on how to Humanly Euthanize your fish, and I found that many people find that the Clove oil and Vodka method seem to work best.

The clove oil puts the fish to sleep, so that it feels no pain, and then the vodka kills it.

I read through the comments, and looked on other sites to see other peoples experiences with this method. A lot of people say that Betta fish don't react very well to the Clove oil and start to thrash around a bit when it is added. But there is also a fair amount of people who say that the method is perfectly peaceful.

What is your opinion on the matter?
Should I try it?
